Before Jean-Claude Van Damme threw a single kick in Bloodsport (1988), it was Bolo Yeung who commanded every room he entered. Bolo was a legendary bodybuilder and martial artist who had already worked alongside Bruce Lee in Enter the Dragon (1973) — standing toe-to-toe with Lee at a time when only a handful of people on earth could do so credibly. But it was his role as Chong Li in Bloodsport that burned him permanently into the consciousness of an entire generation of martial arts fans. Bloodsport went on to become one of the defining action movies of the late ’80s, launching Van Damme’s career and becoming a cult classic that still holds a fierce grip on collectors and fans decades later.
This custom 16×20 mat was designed around the iconic Bloodsport artwork — deep black background, the bold red script logo, the action stills of Chong Li mid-fight, and that unforgettable still of Bolo pointing directly into the camera — one of the most recognizable images in martial arts cinema.
