WILLIE DIXON Custom 12×16 inch Mat for Signed Vintage Concert Ticket

Willie Dixon was the creative engine behind Chess Records during its golden era in the 1950s and ’60s, crafting songs that became the backbone of the blues canon. Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, Little Walter, Sonny Boy Williamson — Dixon wrote for them all, and in doing so, handed the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton, and The Doors the very raw material they would build their careers on. When Jimmy Page lifted the riff and the lyrics of “Bring It On Home” and “Whole Lotta Love,” he was reaching straight into Dixon’s catalog. The Chicago blues sound, as the world came to know it, was largely Willie Dixon’s invention.

This 12×16 inch Custom Mat was designed around a striking black-and-white photograph of Dixon at ease — stretched out on the grass, leaning against his upright bass with a Fender Telecaster resting nearby, that wide, knowing smile doing all the talking. Mounted in the mat’s precision bevel-cut window is a rare vintage concert ticket — signed on the back in blue ballpoint pen by Dixon himself. It’s not just a signature — it’s a thread connecting you directly to a man who quietly wrote the soundtrack to half a century of popular music. For any serious blues or rock collector, this one carries serious weight.
