Are framed collectible displays the future of Zoom video conferencing backgrounds?

I tuned into Jimmy Kimmel’s interview with Anthony Anderson recently and couldn’t help but notice the interesting display piece in the background of Anderson’s Zoom shot. A beautiful shadowbox that framed a Muhammad Ali signed glove matted with the famous Liston knockdown photo.

In the North Collectors studio, we’ve heard people mention more lately a piece they may want framed for the new “Zoom office”. But there are few things to consider if you’re thinking of framing or buying a piece from our collection that you may want visible on a video call.

So we’ve given more thought lately to the type of display pieces you may want that can really make an impact, and even sometimes provide a conversation starter on those video calls. When considering a piece to showcase in your office or the background of a video call you will want to consider anti-glare glass. That type of glazing is also available in acrylic glass (plexiglass). Your own interior lights and the sun can easily wash out a framed item you hope to be showing off.

We’ve already framed a few cool pieces at the NCC studios that are proudly part of a few client’s video office backgrounds. We can further consult with you on the proper size, frame colour, and wall placement.
